Lion Edge Technologies develops livestock management software for both PC and Mac OS computers. The Ranch Manager iPhone app can sync with the desktop software via the Ranch Manager Cloud Service. The Ranch Manager Cloud Service allows wireless transfer between devices (iPhone, Mac OS, PC, iPad). The desktop version of the software is sold separately and is required to use the RM Cloud service to synchronize data between devices. Disappointed. Forms not linked. Have to re-enter data on each form. No nice way to tie tags dam, birthdate together for one animal. Waste of money. My iPhone notes worked better.
I have been working with the app for more than 3 years. Currently I have a lot of data and start finding some errors in the mobile app. For example it assigns sometime calves to the wrong mother although in the pedigree of the calf appears the correct mother. One year ago as I started using iPhone 6 I realized that the pedigree form was too large for the display. I unsuccessfully tried to reduce the picture by double thumbing. You have to scroll all around to see the genealogy. I told that to Lion Edge one year ago and they havent fixed it. Quite disappointing. And it is not a low price app! Consequently I cant recommend to buy the iPhone app unless they fix the bugs more consequently.
I love this app wish it had a help button though or a tutorial. Can you click an action to calve out a cow?
Best program ever! I have been using the desktop version for a long time. The iPhone app just made it even better because now I dont have to remember to enter data when I come back in the house. I Love It!! and its super easy. Even better is their support if you have a problem or just dont understand something. Great customer service!
